Concrete Refinishing (Polishing)

In response to popular demand, we’re pleased to announce Adam has completed his Certified Polished Concrete Training through Werkmaster and is offering concrete polishing! We’re very excited to add this to our list of services to help beautify and maintain your home.

Fun fact: Though the words are used interchangeably, they aren’t quite the same. Cement is an ingredient in concrete…in other words, cement is to concrete as milk is to ice cream.

Consider refinishing (polishing) your concrete floors if you would like to:

·        Revive areas where stains or discoloration have occurred

·        Fix a slippery concrete surface (polish adds a high friction co-efficient than ordinary concrete and more friction means less slipping)

·        Fix cracks, flaking or chipping

·        Make the room brighter - highly polished floors reflect more light making the room brighter

·        Update an outdated concrete finish

This method of polishing was selected by Tile Unlimited because it falls in line with our core values.

1.      This method produces a high quality result – your concrete will have a beautiful, durable, lasting gloss when we’re finished with it.

2.      Little to no ‘down time’ during polishing. The polishing can be completed in sections, which means we can accommodate for your best living experience while we get the work done.

3.      We have HEPA filtered vacuums attached to our grinders ensuring a nearly dust free environment for you and your loved ones (particularly good for household pets)

4.      After refinishing, as you would expect from concrete, your floors will still be easy to maintain!

So, as far as working with existing concrete, Tile Unlimited now offers two compelling options:

1. Concrete refinish / polish. A contemporary look.

2. New tile installation on the existing concrete. An extremely durable finish.

The price per square foot for the labor to install new tile or refinish concrete is nearly the same, so the real cost difference here is the materials. For new tile installation you’ll have to purchase the tiles which increases the cost.

Whether it's installing tile or polishing concrete, we are a one-stop shop! Many companies will not move furniture or remove the current finish but we will safely handle all of it for you.

Our team will remove current floor covering such as old tile, linoleum, hardwood etc. including grinding off any glues or sealants. This way we can ensure the concrete is properly prepped for the new future you choose for your floors.

Tile Unlimited uses a Raider XL5 to prepare and polish residential as well as commercial floors in Sonoma, Marin, and nearby counties in California.

We’d love to chat with you about making the dreams for your home come true. Contact us today to discuss your tile or concrete needs!
